If you wear anything else,it just looks weird.
Unless you're going running or something. then tennis shoes, all the way!

It depends on what you're doing and what you prefer. Sometimes I wear canvas sneakers with short shorts especially if I'm going to be walking or running around, but sandals are definitely cooler for the summer especially.
