The morning of December 27, 2015 couldn’t have been more peaceful and perfect. Rain was on the forecast for the weekend, but that morning the sun was shining bright and the birds were singing! It was beautiful. I woke up with butterflies in my stomach knowing in less than 12 hrs I would become a wife to the most amazing man. I walked outside to see my parents backyard in San Diego being transformed into a fairytale wedding decorated in white, gold, and red. While I looked around, I could hear my brother practicing the song I would walk down the aisle to on the piano. It was such a surreal moment, one I will never forget..
My childhood best friend, Shannon, was my maid of honor and my niece, Brooklyn Blue, was my flower girl. We got ready upstairs in my parents bedroom and it was so relaxed and fun– exactly how I hoped it would be! Our photographer, Suzi Jacobs, arrived about an hour before the ceremony started to snap some pictures before I put my dress on. I am so happy she was able to capture those “bride” moments!
I found my dress at a boutique bridal shop here in Austin called Blue Bridal. When I went dress shopping, I had a picture of my dream dress by Anna Campbell to show them. Right when I showed them the picture, they told me they had the exact dress! I couldn’t believe it. I felt like a princess when I put it on!
Our ceremony was super intimate with just about 30 guests. I walked down the aisle to my brother playing “Storybook Love” on the piano from the movie “The Princess Bride”. The moment I saw Cameron standing there at the end of the aisle, tears instantly came to my eyes. He looked exactly like a prince and I couldn’t believe he was about to make me his princess, forever. I could feel God’s presence all over me and He was about to bless me with the most amazing man for the rest of my life. It was the most incredible feeling.
Cameron’s grandfather officiated our wedding which made the day even more special for us. The moment he announced us as husband and wife was so powerful. We instantly felt we were one. After the ceremony, we immediately took photos since we didn’t do a “first look”. So while our guests had appetizers, we took pictures for about 45min while we had some sunlight left.
Our reception was SO much fun. We had two long tables on each side of our tent decorated with flowers and candles. For dinner, we had hamburgers with truffle oil fries and kale salad. It was AMAZING! Cameron and I were able to sit and enjoy the food with our family which was so nice.
After dinner, more of our guests arrived for our first dance, cake, bouquet toss and more dancing! I don’t think I ever got off the dance floor. Hah! Our first dance was to "Die a Happy Man" by Thomas Rhett. Ok, how ADORABLE is my husband dancing?! I can't get over the pics of him! <3
Our wedding couldn't have been more magical. We talk about it all the time and if we could go back, we wouldn't change a thing. We wish we could rewind and do the whole day over and over again! We can't thank our family and friends enough for making it so special for us. Did I mention we planned the wedding in less than 3 months? Yeah, we have some amazing people around us ! ! ! ! And we give all the glory to our Father in Heaven for making the day so perfect and for blessing our marriage already. God is so good.
We've been married for 5 months and I'm still falling more and more in love with my husband everyday.
He's my fairytale come true. My forever and always.
